NFL Week 5 - Fantasy Football Tuesday Morning Hangover

The season is in full swing now; Byes are in full affect and those nagging injuries are starting to keep players out of games, this becomes the make or break part of the season, along with testing out your roster to see how well you draft and if you had made those vital wavier claims.. And for the few of us this was the week to see if our suspended player(s) showed up, or in the case of Big Ben are going to show up (and keep it in his pants).. Now time for my mini-rant of the week.. This is a rule that most Fantasy Football players know, but names mean nothing in this game, all that matters is the points that a player scores. Of course I'm not an idiot, contrary to what some my fellow bloggers might believe, I know AP and CJ will be tops, but they don't make a team.. I'd love to say they did and that  draft is won in the first 3 rounds, but really we all know it's the last 3.. Who drafted Orton as a starter (referring to a standard 10 team league), I know I didn't and that was a 12 team league.. I did though pick him up in the only league that I didn't have Rodgers/Roethlisberger as my QB tandem.. Still kind of kicking myself for not doing that one, even with Rodgers and Big Ben.. But to bring this back around, just because you have the big name players it doesn't mean you're going to walk into the championship, it means it is always important to keep working those trades and waivers..

Now onto The Tuesday Morning Hangover..

Top Shelf
Tony Romo - First Cowboy to pass for over 400 yards in a game since the 90s, and include 3 TDs into that and it make and great day for any QB. The only problem those 3 INTs he threw as well. This was the kind of game Romo owners have been waiting for, for seems years now. With the WRs he has now, he should be able to keep up some level of production throughout the season..
Phillip Rivers - Another Stellar performance with 400+ passing yards and 2 TDs, but then again when the rushing attack isn't there what else can you do?
Honorable Mention: K. Orton, S. Hill, R. Fitzpatrick

Matt Forte - This guy love to bounce back and forth between the Bottom of the Barrel and the Top Shelf. Forte piled up 166 rushing yards and 2 TDs.
Ray Rice - Welcome to the party RR!! Glad to see him finally running like he did last year. With 2 TDs on 133 yards hopefully this is just the beginning of this hot streak.
Chris Johnson - CJ was CJ again, I'm not gonna say he put the team on his back and carried them through the game, but he did his part and more with 130+ yards and 2 TDs.
Honorable Mention: M. Bush, L. McCoy, C. Benson

Malcom Floyd - Finally the break out game we've been waiting for to prove he's stepping into the shoes of V-Jax. He went for an impressive 213 yards and a TD on only 8 receptions.
Brandon Lloyd - It's a little hard for myself to stomach his performance now, being a Skins fan that is, where the hell was this kind of play then?! But thinking that he went off for 135 yards and 2 TDs, that's the things that Skins dreamed of back then,  but the Redskins lose is the Broncos gain.
Hakeem Nicks - This kid has be absolutely insane this season so far this season, at least based on his ADP and the thought that he is a 3rd option? Right now if I'm owning a NYG WR it has to be Nicks.
Miles Austin - There was some discussion at the beginning of the year if MIles was the real deal or just a one year wonder. Well with a nice bounce game of 166 yards and a TD, he looks to be the real deal.
Honorable Mention: P. Harvin, T. Owens, S. Johnson, M. Lewis, V. Davis

Bottom of the Barrel
Matt Schaub - He has just been an utter disappointment this year, thus far. I'd like to tell you it's only going to get better from here, but I can't even tell myself that one whole heartedly.
Peyton Manning - Eh, even Peyton Manning has a bad game.. Nothing much to worry about here..
Sam Bradford - Talk about blowing it, he had a golden opportunity here and he just couldn't follow through. He is a rookie and I'm not going to rag on him much, let's just hope he take this one as a learning experience and get back on track the way he was playing.
Dishonorable Mention: M. Cassel, K. Kolb, D. Brees, C. Palmer

DeAngelo Williams - This team is just horrid this season, with having Steve Smith out that took all threat of passing out so that the Bears could load the box. If you're a Wiliams owner just hope they get some kinks worked out over the bye week, but I'm doubting it..
Maurice Jones-Drew - MJD is just having trouble finding the end zone. Now that they have found some for of a passing attack, hopefully it will open the ground game up some.
Jamal Charles - Let's hope that KC finds their ground game soon, and lets Charles bust off those long runs. If not this is going to be a long season for Jamal Charles owners.
Dishonorable Mention: R. Torain, R. Mathews, B. Wells

DeSean Jackson - Kolb's not liking the long ball much and D-Jax is returning kicks again.. Not a good combo, is Vick back yet?
Chad Ochocinco - T.O. Show is taking over the Ocho.. So much for Batman and Robin, this is looking more like Andy Griffith and Barney Fife.
Colts Receivers - You can't win them all, can you? Wait they just about did not to long ago, but this should only be a one game hiccup in reality.
Dishonorable Mention: D. Bryant, D. Bowe

Bargain Bin
Shaun Hill - It is looking so that he is only going to get one more start before relinquish his start role, but if you're looking for a fill in he's still not a bad option.
Ryan Fitzpatrick - Yes he is going into his bye week.. Yes, he is still only owned in 6% of leagues.. Yes, you need to pick him up.. Simple as that. **This is his BYE WEEK coming up**
Matt Flynn - If you're an Aaron Rodgers owner you know this name and know why you need to pick him up. If not or you want to screw the AR owner in your league you can pick him up, but this doesn't look like it'll last longer than a week.
Mike Hart - This is a precautionary pick up for Addai/Brown owners.. But you know the injury history there with those two.
Steve Johnson - Third straight week scoring and quickly becoming one of Fitzpatrick's favorite targets. He's worth a wavier.. **This is his BYE WEEK coming up**
Roy E. Williams - He's seemed to stay hot through the Bye week, now just to see if he can keep this up once Dez Bryant is back to 100%.
Kenny Britt - Someone who I thought in the pre-season was going to have a break out year, man was I wrong.. This was his third consecutive week scoring though.. Keep an eye on him.
Danny Amendola - With the injury to Mark Clayton and Sam Bradford's favorite target, this makes Amendola a must add this week.
Marcedes Lewis - It has seemed to be BOOM or BUST with Lewis this season, so lead with caution, but Finley is out now for 3 weeks minimum.
