Miami Thrice

Well it was the opening night for the NBA and taking center stage was the Miami Heat and their “Miami Thrice” consisting of Dwayne Wade, LeBron James, and Chris Bosh, three of the biggest free agents in the off season on one team. High expectations are on this team and not the kind to get to the playoffs but to win not just a championship but multiple ones. Opening day was to be their first test to compete against last year’s defending Eastern Conference Champions. This game was supposed to legitimize their collaboration showing they are going to be a top team, but it did just the opposite of what they were trying to accomplish. The team did not look like it gelled real well, with at times looking like Wade wanted to be the guy; James wanted to be the guy, and Bosh taking errand shots trying to get his points. It was apparent they have no player to play the low post, and most that knew Bosh’s game knew he would not be the low post player and part of the reason he did not stay in Toronto was he did not want to play center, so they get dominated underneath and this will be a bigger issue once you get into the playoffs. The defense for the Heat will need to tighten up as well because it looks like just what it is, three superstars that think because the team has three superstars on the team that will be good enough to win. Now for all the Heat fans I do consider the fact Wade missed pretty much the whole entire pre-season so they will need time to gel, but the question I ask is what happens if they do not gel? What happens if two years go by and they still have no title? These are questions that will take only time to answer but I do not think it is impossible as long as the Lakers have Kobe, Celtics keep loading with talent, and the Knicks are in the mist of trying to do the same as the Heat. In the big scheme of things though it was just one game, and this one game will not determine too much, but I think it does show it will not be as easy as we and they thought it would be.  Stay tuned as the season continues to keep getting updated.
