So Far In Week 4

49ers @ Falcons
Well can we say the San Francisco 49ers are the only team 0-4 that could easily be 2-2 or even 3-1? They have some bad bounces and just cannot finish a game. They gave the Falcons a real scare in the Georgia Dome and at times making the Falcons Offense look awful. The 49ers definitely have the skilled players to be a good team but looks like they are missing something, maybe a QB? The Falcons improved their record to 3-1 to keep pace with the Saints in their division that should be a division that goes down to the wire. The Dirty Birds will go up to Cleveland to take on the Browns, and the 49ers just don’t get a break they have to take on the Eagles at home, but with no Vick could be a game they could win.

Jets @ Bills
Well not to take Dennis Green’s words from him but the Jets are who we thought they were, they are who we thought they were. After the loss to the Ravens in week 1 a bunch of questions were raised about the Jets, well I think those questions have been answered after beating everybody in their division in 3 straight weeks. Looks like L.T is showing he still has some gas in the tanks and Sanchez can make a few passes. The Bills on the other hand just are not a good team, and need some major help. Fitzpatrick is not the long term answer and they need some solid WR’s on the outside. They have plenty of RB’s to spare, hey maybe Gailey is playing to lose so they can get Ryan Mallett. The Bills though will continue their journey against the Jacksonville Jaguars, and the Jets will take on the Minnesota Vikings which should be a heavy defensive game.

Bengals @ Browns
Watching Seneca Wallace play makes you wonder why he has never started before? He doesn’t have the typical size of a QB that you like to see but it seems like he can just flat out make plays. He did it at Iowa State and looks like he can do it in the NFL. The Browns are not going to win any division this year and not going to make playoffs but they can say they are king of Ohio. The Bengals just came out flat and played that way even though T.O had over 200 yards receiving, they just had problems scoring early in the game. The Bengals will look to bounce back against a tough Tampa team as the Browns will see if they can upset the Falcons at home.

Lions @ Packers
This game was supposed to be a blowout by the Packers, after losing to the Bears the week before they were going to come out and show the world why they are one of the best teams in the NFL, but I guess somebody forgot to tell the Packers. When it looked as the Packers were going to break away with the game, the Lions would close the gap. If I was to say a QB threw for over 300 yards in this game you would of thought well of course Aaron Rodgers did but nope it was Shaun Hill. Rodgers only had 181 yards passing. Also for you fantasy owners out there looks like Calvin Johnson might start living up to all the hype that he has had, and go back to being Megatron. The Lions looks to get their first win against a hot Rams team, while the Packers take on Washington that could be tougher for them than it looks on paper.

Broncos @ Titans
Not to brag about this but I think I picked the Broncos on our radio show to beat the Titans as my guarantee pick of the week. The Broncos spread the ball around really well on offense and even though the running game is suffering with Knoshown Moreno out the goods side is when he comes back you know he will be taking right back over. Kyle Orton is proving to be a great commodity for the Broncos and sooner or later could have a situation like the Chargers did with Rivers and Brees. As far as the Titans go if C.J wants to get to 2500 yards rushing or even 2000 he better start to get going second week in a row rushing for under a 100 yards. The Titans are a front runner if they get up big you can take it to the bank but if they have a team that is willing to fight back they can’t hold on. The Broncos take their 2-2 record to Baltimore to play that tough defense, and the Titans have to play those Cowboys looking to get their second win of the season.

Seahawks @ Rams
Well I was right about one thing about this game that Stephen Jackson wouldn’t run wild on the Seahawks averaging only 3.1 yards per rush, but I was wrong on the winner. I did not think the Rams defense could play well enough to pretty much shut out the Seahawks offense. The Seahawks have been inconsistent all year and if you have any of their players on offense in Fantasy Football I would bench them. Sam Bradford is showing that he is going to be a star in this league and I send out my congrats to the Rams for taking a chance on this QB and looking so far like it will work out. The Rams will take on the Lions and either the Lions will get their first win or the Rams will be 3-2, now that would be something. The Seahawks get a week to try to fix their issues during their bye week.

Panthers @ Saints
I can honestly say I don’t have any more excuses for the Saints offense, without Reggie Bush in there it seems to change the dynamics of their offense’s ability to score TD’s. Do I think they will get it together yes, but they need to fast or they could see themselves losing their division and having to get a wild card bid to the playoffs. As far as the Panthers go, I like the fact they have Jimmy Clausen playing because if you’re going to be bad might as well be bad with a QB that could be your future instead of a QB your looking to be your past. Carolina has talented RB’s and their defense is not bad but until a QB plays solid for them they are not going to win many games. The Panthers will try to make it 2 losses in a row for the Bears and the Saints will take on the Cardinals.

Ravens @ Steelers
This game I thought I literally saw Flacco become a big time QB right in front of my eyes. The Ravens blow it on the goal line and looking like the game was going to be over but they get the ball back with less than 2 minutes on the clock. Flacco responds with a 4-4 40 yard effort throwing the winning touchdown. Now for you Steelers fans do not worry because I will say if you had Big Ben in there you guys would have won. Having Ben is worth at least 7 points and he would of made a difference in this game. The wait is over next game you get your Big Ben back and he might be rusty a game or two but the Steelers have a legit opportunity to make a Super Bowl run. Fortunately Ben comes back against a team he has always done well against and that is the Browns, while the Ravens will take on the Broncos that will be a tough matchup for the Ravens.

Texans @ Raiders
You almost have to ask yourself are the Texans as good as we have made them out to be? They did beat the Colts but so did Jacksonville, they did beat the Redskins in a come from behind victory and they beat Oakland. I think some questions have been raised about this team but I think they are solid; Arian Foster is running the ball very well and could be a threat for the Rushing Title. AJ was out this game but should be back soon that will give them that added weapon on the outside. Far as the Raiders go they are bad and they need a few things on offense to really turn their team around, just like the Bills they could be on the Ryan Mallet sweepstakes. The Raiders will take on the Chargers next week and the Texans get to go against that pass rush of the Giants.

Colts @ Jaguars
Well me and a buddy were talking about this game and he was telling me how he could not see how the Jags could stay in this game, and I reminded him the Jags always play the Colts tough. Well he thought I was crazy but look at here, the Jags not only played them tough but beat the Colts. Manning of course still went off but the Jags found a way to win. The Colts have to be worried about their defense and how they are going to stop people all year long. The funny part is the Jaguars and the Colts are both 2-2. The Colts will look to give the Chiefs their first loss, while the Jaguars have a pretty easy matchup by NFL standards against the Bills.

Redskins @ Eagles
Well the fans of Philly gave Donovan McNabb love for about 30 seconds and then boo birds came back. The biggest news about this game is that Vick was knocked out with reports of broken ribs. You can tell the Eagles are a different team with Kolb in there; the defense can play the pass causing the offense not have as many big plays and giving more opportunity for Kolb to make a mistake. The Redskins did not look great but Clinton Portis was rushing with a purpose, as well as Torain was. If you missed the game you should see the hit Torain put on the defender just knocking him over gives me flash backs of Bo Jackson but not to that degree. The Redskins look to take the division lead against the Packers, while the Eagles try to keep pace against the 49ers.

Cardinals vs. Chargers
Hey there was the Derek Anderson we know, throwing interceptions and stalling out his team. The Cardinals are in dire need of a QB and they have too much talent on offense not to go find them one. The Chargers defense looked like the best defense of the decade against the Cardinals causing turnovers and mayhem for the Cardinals. Phillip Rivers and Gates got it done on the offensive side of the ball, and going to need more performances like this one to make a run in the Playoffs. The Chargers take a road trip down to Oakland, and the Cardinals get to take on the Saints.

Bears @ Giants
There is not a whole lot to say about this game, neither offense really looked great but the story is all the sacks on Jay Cutler by the Giants. Cutler ended up having a concussion but who did not see that coming with all the sacks he was taking, I believe there were 9 in the first half. Cutler needs to go buy his offensive line a Rolex and dinner so they will block for him or something. I do believe though the Bears will bounce back when the play the Panthers and the Giants will have their hands full against the Texans offense.

That’s what been going on so far in week 4, and just like the 3 previous weeks irony and parody just keep popping up. Sooner or later the games will have to start becoming more like we think they are going to go but until then enjoy the games. I will have MNF results up by Tuesday Morning.

*******************UPDATE*************************

Patriots vs. Dolphins

This game looked like Dolphins were going to have in control, until the second half started and the Pats special teams took over the game with a kickoff return for a touchdown, a blocked punt that put the pats offense on the 18 yard line, and a punt block for a touchdown. Chad Henne did not have his best game but the running game was still looking good (Refer to What are the dolphins thinking)Both teams have a Bye week to celebrate and to try to get things right.
