NFL Week 1 - Fantasy Football Tuesday Morning Hangover

Welcome to the first edition of the Fantasy Football Tuesday Morning Hangover. I will be introducing you to my thoughts on the previous week, Studs and Duds, Waiver Watch, and  I will dabble in IDP from time to time. I have no real formulas or theories to this, and some of this might be a little bit obvious, but it will hopefully, provide you with help in winning your league. Unless you're in it with me, then I know nothing and stop reading please. Most of my stats and rankings will be pulled from ESPN.

These first weeks are always hard to make decision on players and how they will produce the rest of the year, but as most do, these first three weeks are used to assess the players you drafted and hopefully pick up a few diamonds in the rough or even just a few handcuffs, that will most likely be producing at some point in the year.

The Top Shelf (Studs)
Peyton Manning - 433yds/3tds in a losing effort. Not much to say here it's Manning no real surprise.
Tom Brady - 258yds/3tds, besides him making a return form a season ending injury, see Manning.
Honorable Mentions: Vick, Cutler

Arian Foster - Busted out in the first game for 231 yds with 3 TDs. He's living up to his hype so far, and picking up where he left off last year. Let's see if he can keep this up for a full year.
Matt Forte - Not much in the rushing department with only having 50 yds, he made up for it with 151 yds receiving with 2 TDs. He seems to be back to his 2008 form and becoming Marshall Faulk 2.0 in this Mike Martz offense, but let's see him do this against someone other than DET.
Honorable Mention: Chris Johnson

Hakeem Nicks - Only 75 yds receiving, but with 3 TDs, the yardage total isn't mattering much here. The Gaints have a crowded WR corp, so it will be interesting to see how many targets he'll keep getting in the Red Zone.
Marcedes Lewis - He only got two targets, he he made a lot out of those two. He had 2 TDs with 32 yds. Not to mention he is only owned in 3% of leagues.
Honorable Mentions: Ochocino, Welker, Austin, and Collie

The Miniatures (Duds)
Matt Moore - He can't throw 3 Ints and have any relevance for long, except for making sure you bench him, well really drop him, because if he's your starter you have bigger problems than I can help you with.
Matt Schaub - A dismal performance for a top 5 fantasy QB, he'll likely bounce back next week with the emergence of a ground game now.
Dishonorable Mentions: Ryan, Rodgers, Sanchez

Michael Turner - Steelers D held him in check, but if the passing game doesn't get going this could be a long year for him.
Ray Rice - Sub in the Jets D and see Turner.
Dishonorable Mentions: Barber/Jones, AP, Gore, Greene

Mike Sims-Walker - Goose Egg, need I say more.
Andre Johnson - If he can't get the ball he can't score you points.
Dishonorable Mentions: S.Smith (NYG), Calvin Johnson, DeSean Jackson, B. Celek

Bargain Bin (Waiver Report)
These are players to add to your watch list, keep in the back of your mind, or if you are in real need early, start putting out those waiver claims now. All on this list are owned in under 5% of leagues.

Michael Vick  - Dependent on Kolb's concussion, he looked to be back to his pre-dog fighting form.
Brandon Jackson - Grant's ankle could keep him down a few weeks, or most of the season if it's anything like Michael Turner's ankle last year.
Nate Washington - Looks like we know who the to target is for Vince Young now.
Mark Clayton - Bradford is tossing the ball around a lot. A veteran target will only help him.
Marcedes Lewis - Two targets, two touchdowns. Not sold on him yet, but if the targets continue in the Red Zone he could be a gold mine.
